Health is Wealth. Only a healthy person can live a truly fulfilling life, and contribute towards building a healthy society.

We believe Education must include creating the ability in a person to understand the importance of good health, and the knowledge of how to tackle problems if and when they arise.

Our key focus is to generate awareness among target groups about staying healthy.

1. Good health for Adolescents

Objective - To educate adolescents, especially girls, about pubertal changes, how to maintain menstrual hygiene, pitfalls of early marriage and childbirth, motivating them to complete education and be self reliant

We conduct regular counseling sessions in sewa bastis, schools and colleges.

2. Good health for Women

Objective – To make women aware about common female health issues, with focus on contraception, nutrition, breast cancer and cervical cancer.

We have conducted many counseling sessions for women of sewa bastis in Delhi.

3. Good health for our beneficiaries

We conduct regular health checkup and counseling sessions for the benefit of our enrolled students, their guardians and other beneficiaries.

GOOD HEALTH PARTNER: The above activities need active participation of doctors and healthcare professionals. SumVikas has a tie-up with DrSafeHands, a healthcare organization that specializes in the domain of reproductive health.

4. Medical intervention

We also facilitate access to affordable as well as government-sponsored health facilities and interventions whenever anyone needs help for urgent/chronic health-related problems.

In special cases of chronic illness, we facilitate the complete treatment of patients, even surgeries - if required.

We facilitated critical medical intervention in one such case in 2009 when one student, 9-year-old Jyoti, was diagnosed with a heart problem and needed immediate surgery. Her family was very poor and had no documents either. We facilitated the required documentation and medical intervention. The surgery was successfully done at GB Pant hospital. Follow-up medication and regular check-ups were facilitated by two of our senior members who are doctors. The girl is living a normal life now – she got married and delivered a healthy baby in 2019! Her pregnancy was also medically supervised by our team, with required check-ups facilitated at AIIMS.

Many cases of critical illnesses and medical emergencies have been similarly handled by our team, with a 100% success rate till date. We thank the Almighty for supporting our efforts.
